An important part of our purpose at First United Methodist Church is to
love our neighbors as ourselves. We continually strive to look outside the
walls of our church to help those around us both with our "hands on"
attention and through our financial giving. We support outreach on the
local, national, and international level. |
|
 |
Locally, we participate each week with Randleman Community Service (RCS)
Our children collect food from the congregation to give to RCS for the
hungry each Sunday in their little red wagons. We also support RCS with
financial giving. In addition, we support Scouts,
Asheboro Prison Ministry, Faith Action House, The Salvation Army, Metodista Adonai, Family Crisis Center, Victory Junction Gang, and the
Angel Tree, to name a few. We participate in disaster relief across the
state and send health kits around the world. We covenant with all other
United Methodist Churches to pool our finances to help causes from local
children's homes to supporting education at Africa University. |
| |
 |
At First United Methodist Church, we realize that the Church exists for
those outside its doors and walls. We are at our best when in mission to
our neighbors both local and far away. |

and packaged goods. |

Thank you for reading the newsletter and responding to the request from
The Randleman Community Center. You have provided so many of the packaged
items that they have needed. You were right on target and your gifts of
food are appreciated. The requests for this month are for canned meats
and peanut butter along with the packaged items. We had a total of 137
pounds of food items (August - September). May God bless each donation.
The Mission Team |

Our Church collected
158 pounds of food from April 26, 2007 to May 22, 2007 for RCS. There is a
need for powdered, or canned milk. Remember that items such as instant
potatoes, peanut butter, and other packaged items are needed by the
children as many of them will be home for the summer. Thank-you,
Missions Committee, |
| |
|
Our donation of food to RCS
over the last 5 weeks (
3/17/07 - 4/30/07) was 240 pounds of food. Thank you for the wonderful
variety and the amount of food you have provided for others. May God
bless all of our gifts. |
|
When the grocery stores
had to pull the peanut butter off the shelves, the RCS had to do the same
thing. The supply is very low. We can help by collecting peanut butter,
jelly, instant potatoes, powdered or canned milk, crackers, and other
boxed items of food. Remember the time we make the next delivery, schools
will be ending for the year and many children will be at home preparing
their own food.
Thank
you, Mission Committee |

|
Our Red Wagon Food Campaign
collected a total of
283 pounds between 2/1/07 and 3/17/07. Ninety-one pounds were donated to
CUOC in Asheboro and 192 pounds were donated to the Randleman Community
Service. Remember now, as we celebrate Easter, the children will have a
few days out of school and the needs will increase. Thank you for being so
faithful to this Mission Project. |
